Supported by the Wuxi foreign affairs office, Wuxi and Essex government representatives have reached an agreement on assigning some general practitioners in urban communities and rural townships to the UK to have short-term training and communication.
On the afternoon of January 13, 2015, Ma Ning, director of the international department in the Essex government, and Wei Li, chief of the Nanjing representative office, paid a visit to Wuxi. They had a discussion with Chen Minghui, director of the Wuxi foreign affairs office, on the training of Wuxi general practitioners.
Zhan Yi, vice-director of the Wuxi foreign affairs office, and Hu Jianwei, deputy director of the Wuxi public health bureau, discussed with visitors about the training courses during the visit.
Essex will provide Wuxi trainers with highly-targeted general practitioner training courses, with adopted theory highly related to practice. With professional institutes such as the Royal College of General Practitioners and support from local governments of Essex and East England, the course will combine theory study, simulated training and inspection.
