The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) of Jiangsu held a large job fair on Feb 26, attracting over 130 enterprises and 6,000 job seekers.
The enterprises operating in the fields of mechanical manufacturing, petrochemical engineering, textile, bio-medicine and catering sought suitable candidates for nearly 5,000 positions.
The fair attracted well-known companies such as Tsinghua Tongfang, Ctrip.com, Sweden's Autoliv and Singapore's Hi-P International Ltd, all of which tried to recruit professional candidates. More than 1,300 job seekers have reached preliminary employment agreements with the enterprises.
The fair was jointly hosted by the human resources and social insurance bureau and labor and employment office of NETDA. Another job fair will be held on March 10.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
