Nantong ranks China's eighth most livable city

Nantong of Jiangsu province ranked eighth among China's top 10 livable cities in a recent survey by the National University of Singapore, Modern Express reported.

Macao ranked first, followed by Weihai in Shandong province and then Hong Kong. The ranking was made based on five major indexes, including economic revenue, social participation and medical convenience, according to the university. Some well-known cities of China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Sanya, did not make the list.

  • The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
