Nantong to host group wedding featuring traditional culture

The city of Nantong, Jiangsu province, will host a group wedding ceremony featuring Chinese culture on January 1, 2015, at Huanxi Cultural Square, announced the city’s wedding industry association on Nov 17.

The activity, organized by the association and the marriage culture research institute of Nantong University, will follow the custom of a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony. By then, a total of 30 couples in traditional Chinese apparel will take part in the ceremony.

Jiang Chaohui, director of the marriage culture research institute at Nantong University, also looked forward to the wedding. According to him, traditional Chinese apparel is an important part of traditional culture. He believed the wedding will play an important role in passing down a traditional Chinese culture and national spirit.
