Nantong sees surge in sporting goods exports

With World Cup fever building up, sports accessory exports surged in Nantong city.

According to the Nantong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, it has issued 2,279 sporting goods certificates of origin (C/O) for export with a value of $63.29 million in the first five months of 2014, a year-on-year increase of 21.3 percent and 22.8 percent, respectively.

The number of certificates of origin issued for soccer exports reached 93, worth $3.15 million, increasing 86 percent and 139 percent, respectively.

Sportswear and footwear products are also in active demand.

The Nantong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said it has issued 906 certificates of origin for sportswear and sneakers worth $36.86 million in the first five months, registering a year-on-year growth of 14.6 percent.
