NETDA promotes cultural and creative industry

With many cultural enterprises moving in, the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area has become a center of cultural and creative industry.

At present, there are 200 cultural enterprises at NETDA, which has formed a culture zone of creative design, industrial design, production and marketing of artwork, film and television production, and advertising.

Shao Ping, director of NETDA Social Affairs Bureau, said the key task was to promote the cluster of cultural industries.

In 2013, a cultural industry quarter of 2,500 hectares was planned in NETDA Business District. The government offers favorable policies and invests supporting fund of more than 5 million yuan every year.

A number of support facilities built at NETDA have also provided conditions for further gathering culture-related sectors.

The city’s favorable policies also help foster local brands while introducing leading enterprises in the cultural industry.

  • The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
