Ding Dawei, secretary of the CPC of the Nantong municipal Party committee and director of the standing committee of the people's congress of Nantong municipal city; Zhang Guohua, mayor of Nantong; Huang Weidong, member of the standing committee of the people's congress of Nantong municipal city; Gu Nuozhi, secretary general of the Nantong municipal government; Wang Shaoyong, director of the Nantong municipal government office; and some other leaders inspected the Nantong Free Trade Zone on Feb 7.

Nantong municipal officials first inspected the service hall of the Nantong Free Trade Zone and studied construction plans and investment projects. The officials then greeted the staff at Nantong customs, quarantine, inspection and free trade zone. Afterwards, the officials went to the monitoring center of the Nantong Free Trade Zone and watched the intelligent card operation and video monitoring system.

The officials hope that the Nantong Free Trade Zone would continue to speed up construction, employ foreign investment, and enhance the performance of administrative services. They also wished that the Nantong Free Trade Zone could draw on advanced experience from the Shanghai Free Trade Zone and transform Nantong into a testing ground for new platforms, development and coordination.

  • The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
