Head of NETDA stresses production safety

Qu Baoxian, secretary of the Party work committee of the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), along with heads of the safety supervision, environmental protection and firefighting departments visited Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals Co in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Sept 26 to examine and guide the company's safety production, local authorities reported.

The company has implemented new safety production programs and focused on performance assessment in safety. It has also improved its production facilities and technological operations. As much as 33 million yuan ($5.4 million) has been spent on production safety, improving conditions significantly.

Sales revenue and tax payments went up from January to August, and the company has become the first clean production demonstration enterprise in the organophosphorus pesticide industry.

During his visit, Qu inspected the trimethyl phosphate production plants, a dangerous chemical warehouse and sewage treatment facilities. Qu also listened to a report on security and environmental protection and operation.

He stressed the importance of production safety for pesticide and chemical enterprises and said that the company should strictly control and manage risks to guarantee safety.
