Exports of industrial products, under the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), in Nantong, Jiangsu province continue to grow, with its Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau issuing 247 certificates of origin in the first seven months, worth $15.39 million and 5.8 million yuan in customs duty exemptions, Nantong authorities report.

The certificates went for around 30 industrial products, including plastics, organic chemicals, and silicone sealant. There was an increase in certificates for textile raw materials, organic chemicals, and sporting goods. The agreement promotes trade between Nantong and Taiwan. The Mitsubishi Rayon Polymer Nantong Co reports plastics exports to Taiwan increasing 91.5 percent in quantity and 61.3 percent in value in the first seven months.

There are 267 products from the mainland to Taiwan and 539 products from Taiwan to the mainland that qualify for zero tariffs under the agreement. Nantong Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau officers suggest that local enterprises exporting goods to Taiwan make full use of the tariff reduction and increase exports.
