The residents of the Fumin residential community of the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area gathered to give a helping hand by donating to those in Ya'an, the earthquake-stricken area in Sichuan province, on April 25.

Even residents from poor households participated in the activity. For example, Cai Tongxiang, who lives on the minimum living allowance, donated 50 yuan ($8.11). Wang Guobing, who earns a living by repairing bicycles, donated 51 yuan, all he had earned in one afternoon. They passed on the love and care they had received from society to people now in need.

To date, donations of 18,760 yuan have been collected in the Fumin residential community. The donation will be handed to the people in Ya'an with the help of the Red Cross Society of China.
