NETDA held a social work conference on the morning of March 15. The conference reviewed and summarized social work in 2012 as well as detailed this year’s main tasks. Wang Shirui, member of the NETDA Party working committee and deputy director of the management committee, attended the conference and made a speech.
Wang Shirui made clear requirements for social work in 2013. He hoped the social work system would seriously implement the spirit of the 18th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party and develop Jiangsu’s spirit in the modern era. NETDA should follow the Scientific Outlook on Development, focus on people’s livelihoods and strengthen management. It should also enhance education quality and equality, strengthen primary health care, and implement basic state policies regarding family planning. Public cultural development and national religious integration should also be encouraged.
Wang Shirui said that the social work system should optimize social undertakings, support economic development, and correctly handle the relationship between the state, the collective and individuals.
Attendees included: nearly 300 people from the NETDA family planning work leading group, the patriotic health committee, the food and drug safety committee, principals of the member units of the preschool education joint meeting, heads of street communities, mid-level and above cadres of schools and community health service centers, and staff of offices and directly affiliated institutions.
