China Nantong Industrial Exposition City, a 5 billion yuan project ($798 million), began construction on Oct 28. Qiang Qiang, deputy of the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) governing committee, attended the opening ceremony.
China Nantong Industrial Exposition City is located in the golden trade zone of Nantong, covering an area of 800,000 square meters. Once complete, the city will serve as a super industrial product center and modern trade center in East China. Qiang Qiang stated in the opening ceremony that NETDA seized the opportunity to develop the Jiangsu seaside and Yangtze River Delta. NETDA is currently taking a scientific approach to develop its high-tech service industry and modern commercial trade.
China Nantong Industrial Exposition City is an important project to improve Nantong’s trade and will establish an international market platform.
The NETDA Free Trade Zone got the original go-ahead, on Jan 3, 2013, from the State Council, for a 5.29-sq-km area, in two parts.
