The sixth national website reporters' Hubei trip, with the theme "Dragon flies over Yangtze River, with Hubei as its supporting point", kicked off in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province on May 26.

Nearly a hundred reporters from some 70 websites attended the event, chinadaily.com.cn reported. During the five-day event, the reporters group will visit Wuhan city, Jingzhou city, Enshi Tujia and Miao autonomous prefecture and Yichang city. At the news conference held on May 26, officials from Hubei provincial development and reform commission, Hubei provincial department of environmental protection, Hubei provincial bureau of tourism and other departments made keynote speeches.

After the event, the visiting group came to the East Lake Hi-tech Development Zone, known as the Optical Valley. Through a fabulous introductory movie, reporters learned basic information about the hi-tech zone, which consists of a photoelectronic industrial park, a biomedical industrial park, a university science and technology park, Optical Valley Software Park, and other parks, boasting one of China's zones which attracts so many professionalos..

At Wuhan Overseas Chinese Town (OCT), the reporters walked around its core, the Happy Valley, and enjoyed the marvelous panorama of OCT from a 120-meter sky tower. Open to the public since April 2012, Happy Valley received about 80,000 tourists during the three-day May Day holiday. According to local staff, the overall planning of OCT includes four theme parks: the Happy Valley, Maya Beach Water Park, Happy Childhood Children Park and Eco-art Park; four centers of international performance, ecological exhibition, modern art and sports. Two featured high-level hotels are also included in its plan. All these projects aim to make OCT a calling card for Wuhan.

The last stop is Wuhan New Port, which plans to connect the port shorelines of four cities in Hubei, namely, Wuhan, Ezhou, Huanggang and Xianning, and make itself a 100-million-ton-level port. The container throughput capacity of the port was 852,800 tons last year.

The website reporters' Hubei trip has been held on five occasions since 2009, in which website reporters from national level to city level and large web portals were invited to visit the province.
