Officials of the Wudang Mountains Tourism and Economy Special Region, including Li Faping, director of the management committee, visited Wulong Palace scenic spot on Nov 26, with the aim of accelerating the construction of the Wulong cable car, wudangshan.gov.cn reported.

Li asked questions related to the design and planning of the lower station, and he asked workers to pay attention to preserving the local natural environment, especially rare and ancient trees.

The construction of the Wulong cable car in Wudang Mountains, a key project of the area, began in July, and it is set to open to the public in October next year.

The 3,630-meter long cable car system, which connects the scenic spots of Nanyan and Wulong, has a capacity of eight persons in each cabin and a maximum speed of six meters per second.

The one-way trip will take 11 minutes and the cable car will be able to convey a maximum of 1,500 people per hour.
