Hubei delegation attends intl tourism fair

Representatives from the Hubei Provincial Tourism Administration, led by Huang Hui, a senior official with the administration, participated in the 2013 World Travel Market, which was held in London from Nov 4 to 7 and was organized by the World Tourism Organization.

The World Travel Market is an annual business to business exhibition for travel industry professionals, with suppliers of travel and tourism products showcasing the latest developments in the travel industry.

A total of 182 participants from around the globe attended the event and the Chinese delegation, including the representatives from Hubei province, consisted of 117 members from 23 provinces and major travel agencies, who set up 39 booths.

The Hubei booth displayed photos of Zixiao Palace in the Wudang Mountains scenic area and of practitioners of Wudang kung fu.

The display also focused on tourist itineraries in the scenic area and the Three Gorges Dam, and many British travel agents and also those from Ireland, the US, Poland, India, the Philippines, Australia, France, South Korea and Thailand, showed much interest. The booth also showcased Hubei folk customs.

During the exhibition, a London-based correspondent of Xinhua News Agency conducted an exclusive interview with Huang, who discussed some of the major tourist attractions in Hubei.
