CCTV program to focus on Changyang attractions

A CCTV crew for the series Happy Chinese recently visited Changyang Tujia Autonomous County in Yichang city, Hubei province, for a program that is set to highlight local tourist attractions, hubeitour.gov.cn reported.

Xiong Hu, general-director of Changyang's tourism bureau, and other local officials accompanied the crew members to the downtown of Changyang county, the Qingjiang Gallery Scenic Area, Qingjiang Old Town, 30 Degrees North Latitude Island, Machi Ancient Village, the Danshui scenic area and Folk Culture Village.

The crew showed much enthusiasm about the local scenery and tourism resources, and also the culture and food of the Tujia ethnic group, as well as local tourism products such as root carving and bonsai.

The program will air on CCTV 4 and a DVD will also be available. Happy Chinese aims to increase understanding of Chinese culture and also to highlight the country's tourist attractions.

The series is hosted by two presenters, a Chinese national and a foreign national.
