Representatives of travel agencies, hotels and scenic areas attended a preparatory meeting organized by the Zhongxiang City Tourism Bureau on Aug 15 concerning the Yueyang Tourism Products and Promotion Conference on Sept 12.

Guo Bin, director of the tourism bureau, explained the purpose, mission, and procedures of the conference.

The participants agreed to offer special discounts for companies arranging group tours from Yueyang city, including a 50 percent discount on the entrance tickets of the participating scenic areas and a 50 percent discount on accommodation at the participating hotels.

The special discounts will be available from September 2013 to March 2014.

The plans for the promotional materials, including new tourist pamphlets, a city map and a promotional video, have been finalized, and the preparations concerning the conference room, media invitations and meeting hall are all going smoothly.
