7. Trip to worship Emperor Yan-Shennong

Yan Emperor, also known as Shennong, is the God of the Sun in the ancient legends and the earliest ancestor of Chinese people.

Lie Mountain, the birthplace of Yan Emperor Shennong, is situated at the southern foot of Jiulong Mountain in Lishan town, Suizhou, Hubei. The ancient Shennong Cave is in the middle of Jiulong Mountain.

According to historical records, Shennong’s mother An Deng became pregnant when seeing a dragon falling down from the heaven and later gave birth to Yan Emperor. For thousands of years, people from all parts of the world have come to Le Mountain to worship Yan Emperor Shennong and commemorate the ancestry of Chinese people on each birthday of Yan Emperor. Lie Mountain has become a holy place where Chinese descendants from all over the world trace their origin.
