The Wuhan Westin Hotel joined hands with the International Tennis Match Classic of 2011, Li Na and her friends on Dec 16 to provide funding support for a school for handicapped children in Jiang'an district. They raised money by selling the longest Christmas log cake.

During this event, 10 disabled children accompanied by their parents were excited to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere in the hotel and meet one of the most famous players, Li Na.

Li is a Chinese professional tennis player who was born in Wuhan and won the 2011 French Open singles title. This made her the first Asian representative to win a Grand Slam in singles.

During the course of the evening, she joined the children in drawing pictures on the 16-meter long Christmas log cake, which is to be sold at 69 yuan per pound with all funds to be donated to the special school.

The log cake is being displayed in the hotel and guests are encouraged to buy the cake and donate their love and care for the children.

"We are happy to join hands with the Classic, making the festive season in the Westin Hotel a memorable one with this meaningful charity event, and to have a positive impact on these special children," said Ugur Lee Kanbur, the general manager of Wuhan Westin Hotel.

"Caring for community is our company`s culture and we promise to fulfil our commitment of social responsibility in Wuhan."
