A Halloween “cosplay,” or costume play, was held at Wuhan Tiandi Plaza on Oct.31. The “cosplay” works shown at the gala were based on three animations. Varied pumpkin lamps, or “Jack’s-of-lanterns,” were hung all over the food street. The host gave out many Halloween presents to the audience for free.

A 22-year-old girl named Zhuge Xiaoxiongmao was one of the costume players, or “cosplayers.” She said she was very proud to join this gala as a “cosplayer.”

“But we are sorry for China’s animation, for it is a bit childish. We hope we can produce more good works,” she added.
