The second International Culture Tourism Festival of Hot Spring opened Saturday in Xianning, in Central China’s Hubei province.

The festival includes five pre-festival events, all of which ended Saturday. The festival will host eight other events such as the 2010 China (Xianning)Low-carbon and Quality of Life Forum through Monday – most of them focusing on low-carbon lifestyles and healthy living.

The ongoing 2010 Asia Beach Volleyball Tour in Xianning, an exhibition for the sweet-smelling evergreens, and the National Photography Competition themed “Beauty in Xianning” also highlighted the festival.

The 2,139-meter-long river lantern show on Saturday night in Ganhe, which flows through the city’s downtown area, won a second World Guinness Record for Xianning as the longest river lantern show.
