This zone was established in Guiyang, in 1992, and is one of 53 national zones of its kind and the only one in Guizhou province. It covers a 6.52-sq-km area and contains the "Jinyang Science and Technology Industrial Park" and "Xintian Science and Technology Industrial Park", as well as a knowledge-based economy industrialization base, an innovation park for returning overseas Chinese, and high-tech business and enterprise incubators.
