Guiyang sets ambitious development goals for 2022

Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has set out expansive development goals for its economic growth in 2022, according to the first session of the 15th Guiyang Municipal People's Congress held on Jan 26.

By the end of 2022, Guiyang's GDP is expected to increase by 8 percent year-on-year. The added values of the agriculture sector, industries above a designated size and the service industry are projected to increase by 6.5 percent, 10.5 percent and 6.5 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Guiyang's retail sales of consumer goods are predicted to increase by 10 percent year-on-year. The total value of imports and exports is seen surging by 30 percent year-on-year, while the per capita disposable incomes of urban and rural permanent residents are expected to increase by 10 percent and 12 percent year-on-year, respectively.

In 2022, the added value of the manufacturing industry is projected to account for about 19 percent of GDP. To top it off, the output value of strategic emerging industries is expected to account for more than 20 percent of total industrial output value.

Guiyang's coverage rate of garbage sorting facilities is expected to reach 100 percent in the current year and 2.8 million square meters of illegal buildings are slated to be demolished in 2022.

In 2022, Guiyang will cultivate more than 10 major agricultural companies at the municipal level, assist one agricultural company get a stock market listing, and the city will implement more than 20 agricultural projects integrating big data.

Meanwhile, plans are for Guiyang's national 3A-level scenic spots to number more than two. The ranks of its municipal rural tourism villages will exceed 10, while Guiyang will build an intelligent logistics system and cultivate eight A-class logistics companies in 2022.

Among its other goals, Guiyang will strive to maintain its forest coverage rate at 55 percent and its good air quality rate at 95 percent in 2022. Its green economy is expected to account for about 48 percent of GDP.

What's more, the provincial capital will accelerate the construction of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway, start renovations of the Guiyang-Guangzhou High-speed Railway and the extension of the Guizhou-Guangxi Railway. It will also start plans for the new Chongqing-Guizhou High-speed Railway.
