The finals for the Guizhou division of 2020 Maker in China, an innovation and entrepreneurship competition for small and middle-sized companies held by the Guizhou Provincial Industry and Information Technology Department, concluded in the provincial capital Guiyang on Aug 26.
After fierce competition, 20 projects made the final round, six of which were honored among the top three in the company and maker groups. The winning projects will be included in the national competition's top 200 list and participate in the national finals, held in Central China's Henan province in October.
The project teams each completed an eight-minute presentation and five-minute oral examination. At the same time, seven experts from the fields of big data, big health, innovation and entrepreneurship, and investment offered guidance and graded the projects.
Since launching in April, the competition's Guizhou division attracted 197 projects to participate, including 134 projects from companies and 63 projects from makers.
It is the first time that the completion included a category for makers, attracting projects from a diverse range of industries and fields, including big data and health, epidemic prevention and control, intelligent manufacturing and electronic information.
The 20 projects that made the provincial finals mostly involve the technological innovation of industrial chains, and all reflect the highest level of Guizhou's innovation and entrepreneurship talent.
In addition to bragging rights, the competition also offers assistance securing investments and financing, commercializing scientific and technological achievements and settling in industrial parks.
