Guiyang and Guian New Area in Southwest China's Guizhou province signed a cooperation agreement with Greenland Group, a Fortune 500 real estate enterprise, on March 31 on consumption, infrastructure, medical science and technology, conferences and exhibitions, education and health, as well as a high speed railway new city.

According to the agreement, Greenland will construct a global trade port in Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Development Zone with an investment of 10 billion yuan ($1.41 billion), covering an area of over 500 mu (33.33 hectares).

The port will be integrated with commodity displays, transactions, industrial services, cultural exchanges, consumption experiences, and aviation economy services.

When constructed, the port will introduce nationally well-known online retailer service centers, chambers of domestic and international trade, as well as international high-end consumer brand exhibition halls.

It will also hold multiple international import and export product brand meetings and news conferences.

In addition, Greenland will invest in city construction projects in Guiyang Renmin Avenue, Wudang district, Guanshanhu district, and Guian New Area.

According to Zhang Yuliang, chairman of Greenland, the group will make full use of its advantages and accelerate the construction of an inland opening-up economy pilot area in Guizhou.

The global trade port aims to become a distribution center for import and export commodities, which will serve both domestic and international markets. It is expected to become a platform for Guizhou and Southwest China to showcase their development while connecting to global resources.

Statistics show that Greenland invested over 200 billion in strategic projects during the past month, involving Jiangsu, Gansu, and Shandong provinces.
