The Guiyang bureau of culture and tourism in Southwest China's Guizhou province issued two guidelines on Feb 24 to help scenic spots and hotels reopen to the public while preventing and controlling the spread of the novel coronavirus.

According to the guidelines, all the scenic spots should be approved by Guiyang's epidemic prevention and control work group, as well as check all the public areas, equipment, and security issues before reopening to the public.

Employees should hand in health declaration forms to the scenic spot before returning to work. The scenic spots should encourage all visitors to book online and scan a QR code to confirm their health status before entering.

While adopting big data to trace and monitor the epidemic situation, the scenic spots should carry out an off-peak visiting system to control the tourist volume, which should be less than 50 percent of the daily maximum capacity.

All the hotels should register on record at Guiyang's online platform for enterprises ready to resume work. Hotels should also set people in charge of epidemic prevention and control, as well as make effective virus prevention plans and emergency plans.

In addition to epidemic prevention materials storage, disinfection, as well as staff member training and quarantine, the hotels should register all its guests and check their body temperature.

If any guest is found with symptoms like fever or coughing, the hotels should guide them to the nearest designated hospital and report to the community, local disease control and prevention institutions, as well as culture and tourism bureaus.
