During the second Digital China Summit held in Fuzhou, Fujian province from May 5 to 9, Xu Hao, executive vice-mayor of Guiyang, said that Guiyang wishes to share the complementary advantages of the Big Data Expo and Digital China Summit to achieve mutually beneficial during an interview.

The 2019 Big Data Expo will kick off in Guiyang, Guizhou province from May 26 to 29 and has been successfully held for five years. With big data as one of its priorities, Guiyang is a leader in digital economy, and is known as China's Data Valley.

According to Xu, the Big Data Expo shares the same responsibility as the Digital China Summit, which is to benefit society and humanity through big data.

Taking advantage of being one of China's first national big data comprehensive pilot areas, Guiyang has created an environment friendly to the development of big data industries, and has attracted global companies and talents to stay.

To date, Guiyang has more than 5,000 big data related companies covering the areas of finance, logistics, medical treatment, transportation, tourism, and poverty alleviation work.

In 2018, the revenue of big data companies in Guiyang exceeded 100 billion yuan ($14.68 billion) with a year-on-year increase of 22.4 percent.

Guizhou aims to realize the fusion of big data with more than 10,000 real economy companies by 2022, and is aiming for the occupation of digital economic value added in its GDP to exceed 33 percent.
