Guizhou provincial delegates to China's National People's Congress (NPC), in the city of Beijing, from March 5 to 15 say they will shine a spotlight on poverty alleviation, big data, and general livelihood on the annual meeting.

Huang Huiling, as one of the delegates, shows particular concern for health care, education, child protection and family quality, noting that being "well-off" is not just for the economy.

Another delegate, Lei Yan, of the Miao ethnic group, says that she regards the annual meeting as a good place to talk about culture, with the focus on protecting ethnic culture and villages.

At the same time, delegate Bao Jiake, director of Guizhou's drug evaluation center, is calling for a safety system for marketing drugs and has said that drugs need a strict evaluation before being approved for the market, because currently, marketed drugs "are checked only after problems appear".

Meanwhile, Xie Qiang, vice-chairman of the Guizhou Industry and Commerce Association, is focusing on the national public big data center in Guizhou, while Zheng Qiang, president of Guizhou University, is coming to Beijing with six suggestions on education reform, tourism, and culture, with "poverty relief through education" being "the biggest concern" and adding that the education dept should support backward parts of China more.
