Livelihoods and poverty in the spotlight at Guizhou political conference

At Guizhou province's 11th People's Political Consultative Conference's fourth meeting, starting Jan 25, the discussion centered on improving livelihoods and poverty relief over the next five years, especially since Guizhou is one of the least developed provinces and has more than 6-million people living in poverty.

These will be the key work under the 13th Five-year Plan(2016-2020) and, since last year, its CPPCC members and experts have made 685 proposals, with 221 of them related to poverty and livelihoods.

Chen Haifeng, the vice chairman of the Guizhou provincial CPPCC said in his report that the province should explore new developing path and promoting industrial development.

While the China Democratic National Construction Association in Guizhou said in the conference that green finance is the revolutionary opportunity for the province to extend scientific way to help impoverished people.

Other discussions centered on more efficient agriculture and enterprises helping remove poverty.
