The city of Guiyang, Guizhou province will play host to the 2015 Eco Forum Global Annual Conference, June 25 - 28, where the focus will be on raising public awareness of an eco civilization, according to the organizers, in a May 22 news release, where they say they have invited more than 100 global corporations from the United States, Switzerland, and Britain.
At the 3-day conference in 2014, where there were hundreds of forums, there were Sino-Swiss dialogues, and discussions of eco civilization, sustainable tourism, green industries, urban reform and life style change, with as many as 2,000 guests from China and abroad taking part.
The Eco Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders in shaping global, regional and industry agendas.
The annual event has run for six years and has China State Council backing as the only national forum concentrating on eco-civilization.
Political figures such as British Prime Minister Tony Blair, prime minister of Ireland Bertie Ahern, and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder have taken part in the conference in the past.
Guizhou is a mountainous province that has attracted a lot of overseas attention through the forum.
