Security officers to maintain bus passenger security

Guiyang public security bureau recently recruited 100 security officers to patrol along bus routes and at stations to enhance passenger security.

The 100 security officers – graduates from police training schools and veterans – formally took up their positions after a centralized and closed training.

As a group, two security officers are in charge of a bus; they are equipped with interphone, an enforcement recorder and baton to assist police to maintain law and order in passenger transport and prevent the occurrence of criminal activities on the bus.

Meanwhile, security officers carry micro-loudspeakers to broadcast security Tips to raise passenger awareness of security.

According to the records, the guards stopped a passenger who was carrying sulfuric acid, a dangerous substance, onto a bus.

Apart from that, they have monitored more than 70 bus routes and over 700 buses on their patrols since July, 9, and they have collected more than 450 suggestions from passengers.

Guiyang municipal transportation department office has said that recruiting security officers is an effective measure to assist police in safeguarding public safety.

The department officers also indicate that they will solve severe security problems by effectively organizing special rectification actions to suppress various criminal activities on buses.
