The coastal city of Zhanjiang in Guangdong province has made a firm decision to cultivate a better environment for business, in a bid to create a more promising future for private economy, Wei Hongguang, chief of the city's Party committee, announced on June 12.
"We sincerely hope entrepreneurs will take full advantage of Zhanjiang's funding, industries, technologies, market and information resources," he said.
The government official voiced out his view at the largest-scale meeting of its kind on the private economy in recent years.
During the meeting, the city government laid out 40 measures covering seven aspects to bolster the development of the private economy. Zhanjiang Mayor Wang Zhongbing ensured that the city will pull out all stops to implement the measures to increase the social status and provide more development space for most entrepreneurs in Zhanjiang, in a bid to improve the city's private economy into a new stage.
