Ivy Group was founded in 2004 with its China headquarter in Beijing and has been widely recognized both internationally and in China for its outstanding work in education. It is dedicated to providing premier early childhood education that integrates the most up to date teaching system in the world with the essence of traditional Chinese education system.

Ivy is currently the only officially recognized Multiple Intelligences (MI) program in China by the MI Institute and is also the only early childhood organization in Asia with the participation of Harvard Graduate School of Education Professor Howard Gardner, the founder of the MI theory, as a Board Member.

Ivy Schools seek to nurture the holistic development of children’s full potential and abilities by using Multiple Intelligences theory as the framework for developing its curriculum. Children are exposed to a wide variety of age appropriate activities that challenge them across the learning domains. Teachers are trained to look for teachable moments and the opportunity to encourage children to extend or modify the activities by themselves.

Ivy has an unsurpassed focus on the quality of the education and on the quality of staff. All of Ivy’s teachers are passionate and experienced working with children, as well as being one of the most highly educated and trained group of teachers anywhere in the world. In addition to the rigorous internal Ivy training that every teacher has to go through, the English speaking staff are all certified by the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Multiple Intelligences. The Chinese teachers are also sent to Boston, Massachusetts for additional training at partner schools for up to 2 months.

Ivy has been recognized widely both in China and internationally for its high quality programs. Recent awards include winning the prestigious “Top Private Kindergarten Award” by the Beijing Ministry of Education, which is a three year longitudinal study in areas such as education, administrative management, safety and hygiene. Other awards include “Model Teaching School” which is a national recognition for outstanding teaching quality, as well as “One of three best schools to learn bilingualism” by Switzerland’s Ringier Publications.
