MBA 2009 student representatives elected

After a week of campaigning, the MBA 2009 class elected the students who will represent them throughout the 18-month programme on September 4. The MBA 2009 Student Committee consists of 11 individuals from seven different countries. Their diverse backgrounds are an indication of CEIBS(China Europe International Business School)'international learning environment.

They are (from left):

- Career Development Director Jason Xia,

- Vice President (Section 1) Dongwook Lee,

- President Shantanu Bawari,

- Vice President (Section 2) David Jiang,

- Vice President (Section 3) Bernard Cheung,

- Treasurer Henrik Shoepfer,

- Social Activity Director Kathi Zee,

- Clubs Activity Director Alex Zhu,

- External Affairs Director Jet-Fung Yeung,

- Chief of Staff Kenny Yip and

- Social Responsibility Director Sofia Galante who is missing from the photo.

Between August 29 and September 3, a total of 28 students vied for the 11 committee positions. The entire MBA student body cast their votes for those they felt best represented them and best capable of meeting their needs.

The over-arching themes that emerged from the ideas outlined by the different candidates were:

- the creation of an integrated community of learning at CEIBS,

- enhancing the school's brand and reputation,

- and enabling students to pursue meaningful careers that will help them achieve their personal and professional goals.
