Report No 102, 2014 (Total 4601)

Summary:

To explore the influences on China's green economy in different regions, this study used a green economic development measure index system, with 6 first-class indices and 8 second-class indices, and five econometric models for the country overall and the east, central, west, and northeast parts of China. It evaluated the green economic development in the country overall and the four regions separately, resulting in the following policy suggestions:

First, the negative influences on a green economy include energy consumption structure, level of economic development, industrial structure, population, and urbanization, while some positive influences can be found in technological progress. This indicates that China still needs to improve the quality of economic development.

Second, factors in green economic development may vary in different regions, and have a different impact, so the country needs a scientific analysis and coordinated description of the factors in developing a green economy.
