Abstract: The DRC's research report No 144 reviews studies on the strategic significance of China's urbanization, especially the relationship between urbanization and industrialization, urbanization and sustainable economic development, urbanization and new socialist countryside construction.

The report also analyzed three major tasks facing China's urbanization: migrant workers, infrastructure and urban layout. According to the report, China's urbanization should be more localized. It should also proceed at a proper pace.
