After an extensive cleanup of 237 websites with infringed music, the Ministry of Culture plans new actions against Internet music providers, as our journalist was told on March 21. The actions were intended to further the crackdown on musical infringements and piracies, in order to protect IP rights in music on the Internet.

Violators will be divided into three groups: music websites which have failed to correct their breaches will be prosecuted; another 100 breaching music products on the Internet will be screened out; and the prosecution of 237 breaching websites will be finalized.

According to a departmental head of MOC, anyone may dial 12318 to report any breach of music websites, so that accurate and continuous actions will be ensured.
