According to the State Administration of Industry and Commerce (SAIC), the SAIC, Ministry of Public Security and other 7 related departments jointly issued a circular fighting against counterfeits available through online shopping sites.

The focus of the investigation deals with books, electronic goods, foods, medicine, and other such consumer items. The related departments will investigate and redress cases of infringement of IPR through both the manufacturing and selling of fake goods. Illegal enterprises will be reported to law enforcement agencies to enhance the legal enforcement and create greater awareness regarding online shopping enterprises.
