Weihai's fishing gear industry is set for a digital transformation, with the fishing gear industrial brain at Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park selected for Shandong's new provincial pilot program. The designation, announced by the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, underscores efforts to digitize key industries.

As part of a province-wide initiative, the program harnesses big data and smart technologies to modernize industrial value chains, enhance governance, and drive high-quality growth. By creating intelligent platforms, the effort aims to strengthen decision-making, improve resource allocation, and accelerate the integration of digital tools with the real economy.

Spearheaded by Guangwei Group, the fishing gear industrial brain will serve as an integrated hub for governance, enterprise services, and security support. The platform is designed to guide Weihai's fishing tackle sector toward smarter, greener, and more competitive development, reinforcing the region's status as a global leader in fishing gear manufacturing.

Looking ahead, Weihai Torch Hi-tech Science Park plans to expand similar platforms across other industrial clusters. By improving digital infrastructure; building data warehouses; and fostering stronger coordination between government, enterprises, and industries, the park seeks to unlock the value of industrial data and accelerate the transformation of traditional sectors.  (Edited by Hu Kaili)
