Weihai promotes local specialities for high-speed rail passengers

Weihai, a city in Shandong province, recently hosted a product selection and matchmaking event to introduce its premium goods to the province's high-speed rail network.

Co-organized by the Weihai Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Shandong Jitie Travel Service, the event aimed to showcase Weihai's signature products and foster deep cooperation with Shandong's railway resources, providing opportunities for these products to reach a broader audience across the province.

Representatives from 23 local enterprises presented a diverse range of products, from mackerel dumplings and ginger honey to candied fruit and figs, all combining distinctive local flavors with high-quality production and unique packaging designs.

According to the Weihai Municipal Bureau of Commerce, bringing these specialty products into train and station retail will not only enrich passengers' journeys with authentic local flavors but also create new, engaging ways for travelers to experience Shandong.

By tapping into the reach of the high-speed rail network, the initiative is expected to strengthen Weihai's brand presence, open new market channels for local producers, and share the region's rich culinary heritage with a wider audience across China. (Edited by Hu Kaili)
