As night falls, the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) night market bustles with activity in Chengwu county, Shandong province. Doctors from the county's TCM hospital offer free health consultations and distinctive traditional Chinese medicine treatment services to citizens, integrating health preservation into their summer night activities.
In the first aid area, medical staff demonstrate chest compressions for emergency aid, explain key points related to cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and distribute informational leaflets, attracting many passersby.
Pediatric, ophthalmology, and TCM experts are surrounded by crowds seeking consultations, with experts patiently answering questions and providing professional treatment advice. The venue also offers a rich experience of TCM, including mosquito-repellent and calming herbal sachets, facial masks, Astragalus hand cream, and cooling plum soup for citizens to taste, all of which receive unanimous praise from the public.
By bringing TCM culture from the "consulting room" to the "night market", Chengwu county has, since the beginning of summer, enriched a variety of activities, delivering professional medical services and health awareness to the community. This initiative allows residents to immerse themselves in the deep and extensive culture of TCM in their free time, promoting a shift in the public health mindset from "treating illness" to "preventing illness".
