Juye Gongbi peony paintings from Shandong blossom in Seoul
Shandong's Juye county showcased its exquisite Chinese Gongbi peony paintings (fine brushwork paintings) at the 40th Seoul International Tourism Expo from June 5 to 8.
The exhibition attracted exhibitors from 45 countries worldwide as well as many South Korean tourists. Juye Gongbi peony paintings, with their unrivaled elegance and delicacy, became the highlight of the event. The aesthetic essence of traditional Chinese painting was vividly showcased through the intricate use of line and color.
During the exhibition, representative artists of Juye Gongbi peony paintings conducted live painting creations and art performances on-site.
Using traditional fine brushwork techniques, the artists depicted peonies, capturing the layers of petals and delicately blending leaf veins. Korean visitors and exhibitors stopped to admire the works, marveling at the impressive artistry on display.
"Juye Gongbi peony paintings demonstrate the ultimate delicacy and elegant artistic conception of Eastern art. This art form, which perfectly integrates the beauty of nature with humanistic spirit, is not only a cultural treasure for China but for all humanity. We look forward to deeper interactions with Juye in the fields of fine brushwork painting art creation, academic exchange, and industrial cooperation, making Sino-South Korean artistic dialogue a vivid example of mutual learning," said vice-president and director of the South Korean Art Association.
