Shandong county holds special activities to honor sci-tech workers

Before the 9th National Science and Technology Workers' Day, Ningyang county, Tai'an, Shandong province, held six special activities to pay tribute to science and technology workers.

As the first county in Tai'an to promote the spirit of scientists in schools, Ningyang county has established a regular lecture mechanism. Lecturers have enthusiastically shared the great achievements of scientists like Qian Xuesen and Huang Lingyi with students in Ningyang county.

Meanwhile, the "Backbone of the Republic - Spirit of Chinese Scientists" exhibition selected certain academic achievements of scientists and vividly presenting their struggles in different historical periods.

In addition to lectures and exhibitions, Ningyang county also held a symposium to listen to the demands of science and technology workers, sent letters of consolation to frontline researchers, launched a special column showcasing outstanding science and technology workers in local media, and conducted various science and technology volunteer service activities.

In recent years, Ningyang county has taken the lead in developing a popular science expert database in the city, gathering 147 popular science talents and 10 professional teams in fields such as natural sciences, medicine and health, agricultural technology, and engineering technology.

Using this expert database, the county is actively disseminating popular science through social media and has formed a science and technology volunteer team, promoting the implementation of more than 20 demands for "assisting agriculture, education, and enterprises" in science and technology outreach services.
