The unveiling ceremony of the Hong Kong Promotion Center for Juye Gongbi Peony Painting was held at the Yew Chung International School (Secondary) in Hong Kong on May 21.
The center leverages Hong Kong's international market advantages to further enhance the international brand influence, innovative creativity, and global market operation mindset of Juye Gongbi peony paintings. It will further promote the transformation and upgrading of the Juye Gongbi peony painting industry, actively providing advanced experience for the international dissemination of traditional Chinese culture and the global spread of the Heze peony industry.
"As an intangible cultural heritage item in Shandong province, Juye Gongbi peony painting integrates meticulous traditional Chinese techniques with modern artistic methods, becoming an important art form for the display and dissemination of peony culture. More than 20,000 people in Heze are engaged in Gongbi peony painting, producing over 1.5 million painting works annually with a value of 4.5 billion yuan ($624.7 million)," said Nie Yuanke, deputy Party secretary of Heze.
"As an international cultural hub, Hong Kong hopes to build a broader overseas dissemination platform for Juye Gongbi peony painting, aligning it with the international art market and helping Heze peony culture shine in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and globally," said Professor Ye Guohua, chairman of Bao Hua Cultural Education Technology Group.
Meanwhile, the Juye Gongbi Peony Painting Hong Kong Special Exhibition has kicked off. With over 40 exquisite Juye Gongbi paintings in the exhibition hall forming a peony art corridor, Hong Kong residents are immersing themselves in the poetic scene of peony blossoms.
Cheng Junwei, president of the Juye County Calligraphy and Painting Academy, stated, "This exhibition is not only an art display but also a cultural dialogue. Through the medium of Juye Gongbi peony paintings, Hong Kong residents can experience up close the culture and history of Linzhou and appreciate the unique charm of Juye's intangible heritage."
