Women from Shandong's Juye pave path to happiness

As the morning light bathes the wooden lattice windows of the Jiabin Calligraphy and Painting Institute in Juye county, Shandong province, female artist Zhang Xueyun diligently applied her brush.

As the vice-chairwoman of the women's calligraphy and painting association in the county, she chose to forgo her holiday to personally guide students in painting flower petals. Several students gathered around, observing and recording her techniques.

"The holiday is a perfect time for quiet creation and teaching. Watching my students grow is more rewarding than any rest," Zhang said with a gentle yet resolute smile. "I hope my efforts inspire more women to pursue meticulous painting for prosperity."

In a courtyard in Tianzhuang town, Li Chunxia's crochet hook moves skillfully in her hands. A delicate embroidery artwork featuring sunflowers gradually takes shape on her lap, surrounded by parcels destined for delivery nationwide.

"Holiday orders have increased by 30 percent," Li said with joy.

The "Qijia Prosperity Workshop" model created by the Juye county women's federation has empowered over 2,800 women to create products at home, earning an additional 2,000 yuan ($276.62) monthly.

Liu Aihua, a maternity matron from Longbu town, Juye, managed three orders during the May Day holiday. Transitioning from a left-behind woman to a four-star household service professional earning 6,000 yuan per month, Liu has achieved prosperity through hard work.

Amidst the fields and workshops of Juye county, a group of female laborers nurtures rural vitalization with their efforts and wisdom. (Edited by Xie Zhenzhen)
