At Gaocheng First Experimental Primary School in Chengwu county, Heze city, Shandong province, a variety of booths adorned the playground, displaying diverse forms of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) such as sugar painting, rubbings, and traditional Chinese medicine sachets, each showcasing its unique charm. Children, holding tickets for experiential games related to ICH, wandered among the booths, touching and experiencing these treasures firsthand. They got immersed in the allure of traditional Chinese culture.
ICH is a vital component of China's rich traditions, serving as a vessel for the continuation and inheritance of Chinese civilization.
In recent years, Chengwu county has actively integrated various forms of ICH into daily educational activities through initiatives like "ICH enters schools". These efforts aim to enhance children's understanding of heritage, foster a stronger sense of pride and identity in Chinese traditional culture among youth, and ensure the enduring legacy of these cultural treasures.
