In recent years, Gaozhuang subdistrict in Laiwu district, Jinan has been promoting the combination of intangible cultural heritage and e-commerce in an effort to revitalize traditional culture.

The local area actively recruited more than 20 cultural inheritors, including outstanding folk craftsmen, cultural volunteers, and historical and cultural consultants, forming a volunteer team for regional cultural promotion. They have trained over 150 inheritors of intangible cultural heritage.

At the same time, the subdistrict has held a variety of cultural activities, such as the Pear Blossom Festival, folk culture exhibitions, and handicraft production activities, allowing the masses to feel the charm of local customs and culture.

Relying on the local e-commerce training base, the subdistrict has invested a total of 8 million yuan $1.09 million) in the building of the Laiwu Intangible Cultural Heritage Product Exhibition Area, Regional Cultural Promotion Center, and Dough Sculpture Workshop.

It has also set up e-commerce live streaming rooms and workshops, involving local women in handmade jewelry production and e-commerce live sales and boosting local prosperity. (Edited by Li Weiwei)
