Heze city in Shandong province is renowned nationwide as the home of martial arts, with martial arts activities prevalent in both urban and rural areas.
After the Spring Festival, Dalizhuang village in Chengwu county, Heze, was as lively as ever. Over 10 villagers in training attire showed the charm of martial arts through stances, punches, and hooks.
Chengwu Dahongquan martial arts practiced by the villagers is straightforward and graceful, with a clear rhythm. Emphasizing the unity of internal and external aspects, they move their minds, and their bodies with energy. This martial arts not only hold performance and combat values but also serve to strengthen the body, promote longevity, and enhance health.
The practice of Dahongquan martial arts in Dalizhuang village spans a century and has been passed down for seven generations. From those in their seventies and eighties to children as young as seven or eight, villagers continue to take the path of martial arts, striving to uphold and promote this ancient martial art form.
