This year, Laiwu district in Jinan, Shandong province has identified a total of 139 key projects with a total investment of 109.2 billion yuan ($15.08 billion), making them important drivers of the local economy.
"Projects are the lifeline of high-quality development," said Qi Changgang, deputy director of the Development and Reform Bureau of Laiwu district. He also said that to ensure that key projects are finished as soon as possible, various departments in Laiwu have adopted measures such as reversing the construction schedule, refining tasks, and implementing targeted strategies.
"I didn't expect things to move so quickly. I thought the whole process would take at least half a month," said Wang Jian, the person in charge of the construction project at the Laiwu Campus of Shandong Business Vocational and Technical College. Thanks to the efficiency of administrative procedures for construction projects, Wang's project moved 70 percent faster than before.
He Shengxiang, the person in charge of TOT Semiconductor Technology Co, the key project in the optoelectronic display industry, explained that in order to assist the company, the district government has planned and integrated a 460,000-square-meter electronic information industrial park and brought 14 companies in the industrial chain into the park.
To further bolster investment promotion efforts, Laiwu district has established six professional investment promotion teams, which are closely communicating with industrial parks, subdistricts, and townships to provide full-process service guarantees, from project negotiation to landing and production.
