The Qianfoshan West Road community in Jinan's Lixia district recently hosted a lively neighborhood festival which was brimming with engaging activities like ring toss, ping-pong cup shooting, and pottery throwing. Children eagerly created sugar paintings and DIY fruit candy skewers alongside their parents, who seemed to be having just as much fun as their kids. Elderly residents took advantage of free medical checkups and explored cultural heritage exhibits at a public market. The festival was a vibrant celebration for all ages.

This event highlights the district's commitment to fostering a strong sense of community. Qianfoshan community has cultivated a unique neighborhood culture through a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing social governance. By creating grid maps for seven communities, Lixia district introduced an innovative ''grid + neighborhood'' service model, streamlining communication and facilitating greater participation in local governance.

More than 50 events have been held, engaging volunteers and local businesses to support social services such as assistance for the elderly and disabled. The district has built a network for ongoing neighborly communication, strengthening the community's sense of belonging and responsibility, while providing professional services in healthcare, law, and more.

This community-driven approach not only fosters a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere but also contributes to the district's broader social and economic development. (Edited by Li Qiaoxingzi)
